Ladies and Gents, I present the 15th's final ArmA 2 mission. And it's a doozy.
As you all hopefully noticed, after this mission on Sunday we officially became an ArmA 3 unit. ArmA 2 has been uninstalled from my computer. If you didn't notice, check this out: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JD02e...
The main question I keep seeing is "Oh well ArmA 3 doesn't have XXX why are you switching". The answer is simple: because it's a better game. The environment, animations, graphical fidelity, animations, new features, new, more fluid gameplay and animations, and a whole lot more. There will more than likely be teething issues with the transitions and modpack(we've already had to update our modpack twice in 3 days, and will probably have to do it again before the end of the week). We were tired of waiting. Most of the people in the unit were itching to switch, even if we had to use replacement assets.
The transition from ArmA 1 to ArmA 2 was exceedingly simple. The USMC was the primary featured faction in ArmA 2, and all of the USMC assets we needed were already in the game. We didn't have that convenience for the switch to A3, but we weren't going to wait another 6-9 or more months to switch because the simple fact is: The 15th can't rely on USMC assets from community mods that may or may not ever come to switch over.

A: i5 Ivy Bridge 3570k; 120 gig SSD; 1tb Standard HD(for recording); 8 gigs ram; nVidia Geforce GTX 770 (I run ArmA anywhere between 20-60 FPS, on med-high settings)
Q: What do you use for recording?
A: Fraps for video and system audio; Audacity for personal audio.
Q: Why don't you play in First Person?
A: I'm a 3rd person gamer. I hate first person. It's unrealistically restricting. Please don't try to "convince" me otherwise as if I am unaware of the gaming style I prefer.
Q: Were you in the Military?
A: US Army 99-06, Radio Operator(25C). Non-Combat Veteran.
Q: Is that AI or real people?
A: If it's Wasteland or DayZ, it's real people. If it's an ArmA Mission it's AI unless I very specifically state otherwise. The 15th doesn't PvP.
